Board of Directors

 

 

Jim Elmer, Chairman

Mr. Elmer’s tenure on the Board began on December 14, 2006.  He was a member of the District Formation Committee.  After 30 years of service as a volunteer and paid firefighter with the Sedona Fire District, he retired as an Operations Chief in June, 2007.  He was also the owner of a plumbing company in Sedona for 10 years and served 4 years in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service.

   

Seth Murphy, Board Clerk

 

Mr. Murphy’s tenure on the Board began on December 14, 2006.  He has 7 years of experience in the fire service and is currently a firefighter/paramedic with Verde Valley Fire District.  Mr. Murphy was a member of the District Formation Committee.

 

   

Ron Ballatore, Board Member

 

Mr. Ballatore retired as Assistant Chief from the Jerome Volunteer Fire Department after 28 years of service.  He is a former board member of the Arizona Fire Trainers Association.  He has been a certified fire service instructor since 1985, and a certified first aid and CPR instructor since 1986.  Mr. Ballatore states that he ran for the fire board as a way to serve his community and to stay involved in the fire service.

 

   

Jerry Brown, Board Member

Mr. Brown was appointed to the Board September 1, 2009 to fill a vacant seat.  Mr. Brown is a long time Verde Valley resident.  He has over 35 years of experience in the banking industry and served 20 years on the Marcus J. Lawrence Hospital/Verde Valley Medical Center board.  When asked why he was interested on serving on the Fire District Board, his response was: "I would like to make a positive contribution to the governance of the district with a focus on the appropriate application of resources which results in the most cost effective and superior level of service."

 

Bill Snyder, Board Member

 

Mr. Snyder’s tenure on the Board began December 1, 2008.  He has been in business in downtown Clarkdale since 1976.  During those 35 years Mr. Snyder has been very active in the Verde Valley serving on numerous local and state boards and commissions.
